Alabama's hopes for another SEC championship and a place in the College Football Playoff remain intact.
In a thrilling Saturday night showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Crimson Tide secured a 42-28 victory over their rivals, LSU. This win not only avenged last year's loss but also solidified Alabama's position in the race for the SEC West title.
Jalen Milroe, the quarterback for the Crimson Tide, delivered a stellar performance. He passed for 219 yards and displayed remarkable rushing skills, carrying the ball 20 times for 155 yards. Milroe's exceptional performance also saw him establish a new Alabama quarterback record with four rushing touchdowns.
For most of the game, Jayden Daniels displayed an impressive performance that closely rivalled his counterpart. Alabama struggled to find practical solutions to counter LSU's Heisman Trophy contender, who completed 15 of 25 passes for 219 yards, contributing two touchdowns. Additionally, he showcased his running abilities by gaining 163 yards and scoring another touchdown on the ground.
However, the game took a turn in the fourth quarter when Daniels was sidelined due to a hit that led to a roughing of
the passer penalty and placed him in concussion protocol. This unfortunate incident effectively dampened any hopes of an LSU comeback.
